If the party supports Cuomo, it’s all the evidence the nation needs that Democrats would rather lose than learn. If that happens, the party leadership needs to be replaced completely. No one’s seat should be safe.

There are [’sore loser‘ laws](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sore_loser_law) that prevent candidates from running as an independent or a candidate of another party if they lost their current party’s primary. Every state has these laws *except* New York and Connecticut.
As an elder millennial, it is so refreshing to see another person younger than me that has been able to break through the establishment and rise to prominence. AOC is another great example. It’s shameful that the “old guard” still refuses to concede and step aside when they’ve been bested and rather try to split the vote.

Once again Andrew Cuomo proves to anyone paying attention that he cannot read the room. Apparently it’s not just his interactions with women where he can’t take a hint.
It bothers me that republicans fell in line behind Trump in the last 3 elections and it’s never in doubt, but democrats never fall in line.
I’m sorry, let me rephrase: *centrist* dems expect progressives to fall in line (vote blue no matter who) but the second a progressive candidate gets a nomination they can’t even be bothered to support the candidate.
I really hope the Democrats are prepared for the consequences if Cuomo ends up winning in the end through their support because that would be a surefire way to piss off their left-wing who already distrusts them.
With absolutely vital midterms coming up over a year from now, one would hope the Democrats don’t do anything that causes issues with a base that wants a shift from the status quo.

Cuomo needs to step back and accept he lost. Trump has already established that as a society we won’t stand up to being bullied. Is this millionaire asshole democrat going to do the same. If this is allowed to happen as a society we are cooked. If Cuomo succeeds in bullying out the challenger that beat him fair and square and nothing happens. Democracy in the United States of America is over. Hopefully 2026 is not the first year of the United States full embracing being a kleptocracy.
