It’s funny cause in the tech sector we call this disruptive and that’s okay.
New York is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the country where they’re the ones standing up against the blatant Islamophobia in the name of antisemitism defendants. Even though 911 happened in new york, they’re still the most level headed ones. Most of the rest of the country is stuck in 2001 every time there’s a republican administration.
Edit: Sorry if it sounded like I’m diminishing the good work that so many other people are doing. We’re lucky to have so many of you standing up for people that are being brutally violated by ICE. I merely intedend to appreciate this fearless man who stood up for his principles, says the right things even if most other politicians are cowards to say it or even believe it. His statements about Netanyahu and calling out incompetent federal government are just some of the things that fills us all with hope and I hope to see that in other politicians as well.
And he raised half the money Cuomo did. It seems like old assumptions about fundraising should be questioned, considering that anyone can get worldwide attention for free on the Internet.

Maybe the so-called establishment should reconsider whether they’re in touch with the voters or not. Unfortunately, New York is hardly representative of the US.

I’m not a Democrat, and I hate socialism, but to me, this guy demonstrates that the political system is way more flexible and responsive than people think. You run a good campaign, you press the flesh, you persuade people, you demonstrate a willingness to listen, you work hard, and good things can happen. The idea that politics is all about money is a seductive idea, but it’s exaggerated. In the end, if you can communicate with the voters and deliver a clear and persuasive message, you’ve got a shot at winning, regardless of how much money you have.
For all the talk that the DNC has been spouting recently about finding their Joe Rogan, maybe they should’ve paid attention to the shows Zohran was going on (Hasan, CTH, Breaking Points) but they won’t because those aren’t focus grouped and may actually ask tough questions.
We can only hope that folks have finally concluded that the conservative ideas don’t work for the vast majority of the population. Time to try something else.

I don’t believe his plans are sustainable, and I have some significant concern concerns about how he’s going to get things done
That said, he played a smart campaign and reached the people that got him where he is.
The Democratic Party has shown a lack of desired to collaborate within their own membership. Why are they so surprised that a new Voice has come to the forefront?
The entire Democratic Party, nationwide, needs to get their act together. They need to stop doing what they did at the Democratic national convention, which was spend all of their time yelling about Trump and giving him airtime instead of talking about the things that they want to do for population.
The Democratic Party needs to find a way to communicate with itself if they want to have any impact at the midterms and at the state level

Anyone see the meltdown Bill Ackman had on Twitter? He wants to pump a billion dollars into anyone’s write-in campaign to stop this guy.
They’d literally rather spend more money this way than just paying a little more on taxes. It’s totally fucked. They’ll stop at nothing (at this point I’m sure that will include violence or worse) just to fight the principle of paying more taxes.

Back in 2016 one thing was absolutely clear:
The entire US population hated the establishment. Republicans didn’t fight that, the democrats are still fighting it. Now we’re in trumps second term and the democratic gerontocracy is still fighting the indisputable fact that people don’t want old status quo fucks in office anymore. And the only reason things are even starting to change is that those old fuckers are dying at a more rapid rate cause they are ancient. So Father Time is changing the party wether they like it or not

The amount of opposition research that must be going on right now about this guy is probably over the top.
The entire establishment will come for this guy in November. And by establishment I mean both democrats and republicans.
The upcoming mayoral race in NYC will be one of the most vitriolic, intense and controversial political competitions in recent history.
To what extent is this just due to ranked choice voting though? In a nationwide general election people are still likely to vote for the candidate they think is more likely to win (not waste their vote).
