      Well yeah, you had multiple old fossils like Ernest Borgnine saying they threw their screeners in the garbage and John Wayne would be rolling over in his grave and all that, so we get the head pat for a “racism is bad mmmkay” movie like Crash

      Was Eastwood a judge that year? This is the first year I’m hearing that some judges don’t even watch all the films! What the hell, man?! Is it that hard to watch some movies and form a judgement?

      Why would this guy care if Clint Eastwood saw this movie? What a bizarre and sad thing to latch onto as a success marker.

      20 years ago seems like such a radically different time where even admitting you saw a movie like this would get you weird looks. Not surprised someone of Clint’s generation didn’t even bother to watch it. Things aren’t perfect now but I’m glad this movie is widely regarded as a classic and the true winner in sprit.

      If the Oscars would like to do something cool it would be to have a twenty or thirty year award to continue to celebrate the the winners or celebrate the film that surpassed it with longevity
