      They need to recall this clown I think they can actually get GOP to split with their party on this.

      This guy will literally go down in history books as a Trump sycophant and nothing more. I don’t believe for one moment there is a single genuine bone in this guy’s entire body. His only purpose is to lick Trump’s boots and to be his biggest cheerleader. He has no personality aside from praising Trump as the next coming of Jesus Christ.

      Willing to bet my life savings that if Biden bombed Iran without congressional approval, Johnson would be screaming at the top of his lungs how he violated the War Powers Act and demanding impeachment proceedings.

      Just a hunch.

    4. TintedApostle on

      actually that means Trump violated the constitution completely because only Congress could allow any military intervention – period. Absolutely no temporary power for Trump.

      The war powers act was congress providing the president with a temporary power to address imminent dangers to the US like being attacked because the world moves fast. If that act is illegal than we default to the pure constitutional power to declare war which is solely on Congress. Trump could not have even possibly ordered this attack on Iran.

      **Article 1**:

      Duties of The Congress include:

      > To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

      > To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

      > To provide and maintain a Navy;

      > To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

      > To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

      >To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

      Article 2 just establishes the President as the chief commander of the forces appropriated by Congress. I’m sure Mike knows that, though

    6. Almost everything Speaker Johnson has advocated for is unconstitutional.

      MAGA is a cancer.

    7. MalevolentTapir on

      You would have to be an idiot to believe this, the constitution explicitly grants congress that power.

    8. MarkZuckerbergsPerm on

      Traitor Mike Johnson deserves a long prison sentence at the end of this little authoritarian adventure. Fucking ghoul

      >House Speaker [Mike Johnson](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/08/speaker-johnson-hopes-musk-and-trump-can-reconcile-their-differences-after-public-fallout.html), R-La., argued Tuesday that the War Powers Act, a Nixon-era law limiting the president’s power to unilaterally [wage war](https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/presidents-ordering-military-action-congress-approval-become-routine-rcna214379), is unconstitutional, and vowed that a pending [resolution](https://massie.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=395731) to bar U.S. military action in [Iran](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/24/israel-iran-ceasefire-live-updates-trump.html) under that law will not pass the House.

      >Johnson told reporters that President [Donald Trump](https://www.cnbc.com/donald-trump/)’s decision to order strikes on Iranian nuclear targets over the weekend was “clearly” within his powers under Article II of the U.S. Constitution.

      This guy has shoe shine on his face every day from all of the Trump bootlicking. He is a weak, spineless little twerp.

    10. :before reading article:

      What are the chances his complaint is that the WPA delegates *too much* authority to the President, diluting Congress’s constitutional power on declaring war?

      :after reading article:

      Zero. It was zero chance and I was a fool for even considering the possibility…

    11. HotDogFingers01 on

      If Biden had bombed Iran, you’d bet your ass Mike Johnson would be leading the charge saying it violated the War Powers Act.

    12. Ugh-screen-name on

      People keep talking about limiting the tyrant’s power.  Just what he wants… talk and no action… Trump has effectively ended democracy … hope the magats like their next bully.

    13. Key_Solid_1696 on

      I suspect he’ll be yelling that the constitution is unconstitutional soon…

    14. Oh, so Now he cares about the Constitution? Funny how they only care about the Constitution when it comes to them, but throw it right in the trash when it come to everyone else.

    15. JFC. What’s unconstitutional is the dictator simply deciding to bomb anyone he wants. 3rd grade civics. 🤦‍♂️

    16. His position is sheer lunacy. Moses Mike clearly is lying about this, because he cannot possibly be as dumb as he sounds.

      The only conclusion I can come up with is that he thinks that bringing down the republic is the right thing to do right now. His oath means nothing to him, he considers breaking the constitution and destroying democracy is far more important.

    17. protomenace on

      I love how all these things that dozens of presidents for generations have had no problem sticking to and leading our country to be the greatest on Earth under are suddenly completely insurmountable obstacles that prevent the president from functioning at all and need to be pushed aside for one man.

      If Trump can’t do the job with the same constraints that JFK, Roosevelt, Reagan, and Obama had, then maybe just maybe he’s not the right guy for the job.

    18. I don’t know about the Act’s inherent constitutionality (though I lean towards it being okay). But, the way it was just used was not legal.

    19. It’s pathetic that this piece of shit is literally only speaker because the GOP wanted a republican president with not guardrails

    20. hypercosm_dot_net on

      And people wonder why Congress isn’t doing anything.

      Because Johnson is only there to protect Trump and do his bidding.

      I’ve got a headline for you:

      Speaker of the House Blocking Executive Branch from Oversight Violates Oath of Office.

    21. An election denying White supremacist has absolutely no right to say what is and isn’t constitutional.

    22. nanopicofared on

      If the war powers act which delegated some of congresses power to the president is unconstitutional, then the only government entity empowered to declare war is Congress. Article I, Section 8. So not sure why he thinks this is helping his boss.

    23. I always find it amazing that this guy can be bothered to dig his way out of Trumps ass to give interviews.

    24. Due_Entrepreneur_382 on

    26. McNuttyNutz on

      Oh but if it was a democrat in office it would be just the opposite you sack

    27. chubby_pink_donut on

      Trump, I think, is an empty vessel. He is obsessed with visions of his own grandeur, money, and power. Full stop.

      I’m an atheist, queer, veteran who attends Quaker meetings because that is a group of people who just live everything Jesus was about. No Bible reading or sermons. It’s a group spreading love and compassion to others.

      Johnson is the fucking Anti-Christ. Every word out of his mouth, every action he takes conflicts with the teachings of Jesus. And that man is in control of what is happening. It’s a power grab by Christian Nationalists years in the making, with the soulless, expendable Donald Trump as their puppet.

    28. PineappleExcellent90 on

      I don’t know what someone has on house speaker Johnson but it must be bad.

    29. Most-Artichoke6184 on

      Imagine arguing that Congress has no authority to prevent the president from starting a war.

    30. MyFirstCarWasA_Vega on

      Modus Operandi of those seeking to overturn the rule of law and end democracy. Claim something is unconstitutional just because you feel like doing something illegal, after you have committed the unlawful, immoral or plain vile act.

    31. D_2_da_Zeee on

      I’m surprised his son’s porn notifications are not going off because Mike Johnson can’t stop putting his eager mouth on Donakd’s knob.

    32. HeyyyyAbbott on

      By the end of 4 years the Constitution will be thrown out as woke and also unconstitutional somehow.

    33. theseustheminotaur on

      The legislative and judicial branches bending the knee to the executive branch. Fuck separation of powers I guess

    34. MayorSalvorHardin on

      He’s one of those insane Christian nationalist apocalypse accelerationists. His goal is literally to end the world as fast as possible so Jesus will rise up and give him a big ol’ high five. He needs to be put in a padded room.

    35. I hope these guys all get long prison sentences for treason when this shitshow is over
