      >**Cuomo, who resigned as governor in 2021 amid sexual misconduct and pandemic mismanagement accusations he denies**, still leads in the first round of voting, securing 36.4% support compared to Mamdani’s 33.7%, according to the new poll.

Damn, they didn’t hold back on that one.

    2. This is a way of seeing where the party is headed, right? Or am I exaggerating lol, would be cool if Bernie leaves this huge of a legacy.

I.e. the same fools who gave us Adams because the professor lady was too soft on crime.

Edit: Should have added scare quotes to „soft on crime“, because I don’t think she was, just pained that way.

    4. > But after eight rounds of ranked-choice tabulations, the poll shows Mamdani surging past Cuomo, beating him by a 51.8%-48.2% margin.

There was a story about some Democrats opposing ranked choice in NYC a while ago because – they claimed – people were too stupid to understand it. Really, this is about removing useless incumbents who cling to power.

I don’t trust any Democrat who does not support ranked choice.

    5. This is the contest that Democrats see that ranked choice voting went against them..

Then they will start clawing back ranked choice when it goes against the Party back candidate…

    6. It’s funny ,the argument for experience that Cuomo has been selling and bashing Zohran’s lack of it has been a real selling point for Zohran with me. I feel like the way this were done eventually led us to Trump and Adams. So we need new people to figure out new ways of doing things. Will it work, who knows but it can’t stay the way it is.

I hope Cuomo wins. NYC deserves every bit of his grease-ball ass.

    8. The regret will be so strong for any center or center-left Mandani voter 6-12 months into his term, if he can actually pull this out.

I’ll give Mamdani the benefit of doubt, but some of his policies are straight up ridiculous. Especially the government-run grocery store idea. He’s an excellent campaigner but I guess we’ll see how he handles the actual job.

lol nothing good ever happens. The only poll that matters is the election.

I’m convinced Bill Cosby would win if he ran for Mayor. So many people voting for people simply bc of name recognition alone.

We already have a sex**** at White House I think that should be enough.

    15. How the fuck is Cuomo even this close?!?

HOW DO THE DEMOCRATS ALWAYS MANAGE TO SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT AND ALWAYS PUT THE WORST IMAGINABLE CANDIDATE OUT THERE?

It’s so goddamn frustrating! Holy fuck!

The DNC has to really grasp, in their souls and down to their feet, just how fucking angry the average voter is right now.

    17. Very excited about this election (written from CA)!

      Schumer should be next.
