To an observer from outside the US: the plot seems to have been successful.
This has been going on since the GOP started their Southern Strategy in the wake of the Nixon Administration.

If your were a senior in high school right now and not wealthy or eligible for a scholarship, would college even be an option?
Gen X and Millennials with degrees will see that degree value skyrocket while companies will see a dramatic decrease in college educated workers applying.
It all comes down to Trump destroying any and all economic improvement for those below the upper class except for military veterans.

What seems clear to me is that the GOP, rather than to change their policies and views to fit the needs/wants of people, are attempting to use propganda in education in order to get people to follow their beliefs.
Isn’t the existence of this administration proof they have achieved this already?? How much stupider can Americans get??
The owners of this country … don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking … That’s against their interest … They want obedient workers … people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs.

There are too many educated American’s whose jobs are most susceptible and replaceable by AI. In order to compete with China and other worker exploitive nations they need cheap labor, but they don’t want Central and South Americans anymore. They want good old fashioned uneducated Americans. How many do they need with robotics and automation? It’s difficult to say.

They used to call it a cost cutting measure, that the “3 Rs, Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic” were all that should be taught in schools. Every thing else was just a waste of taxpayer money. And now forty years later they are saying that even that is too much education for the masses.
“Un-educating” the USA hasn’t stopped the most stupid person I have ever had the misfortune to see or hear in my lifetime becoming POTUS. We in the UK have MAGA-wannabes in the Reform party who will look to do the same and we have our fair share of knuckle draggers willing to vote them in too according to the polls so it’s not exclusive to you guys. The world seems pretty fucked up at the moment.
When I was a kid there were only like two people I ever knew who were homeschooled. Now so many parents I know are homeschooling.
It’s also a new generation of people who trust the hearsay of people who politically align with them over actual doctors, distrust science in general, etc and may also go against doctor advice if WebMD or AI says something differently. Many people out there think doctors are „slaves to big pharma.“

This dates back to the Confederacy. It’s not so much to uneducated as it is to rewrite history and control what is learned. An organization known as the Daughters of the Confederacy poured enormous amounts of money into school systems, supplying their versions of text books, and learning materials, confederacy statues, and similar ideologies All of this helped glorify the confederacy and retell the civil war history. This morphed into controlling how generations of people think in red and /or southern states.

The agenda of publicly funded education has always been anathema to the modern conservative movement.

They tell Americans college is a scam, yet continue to send their own kids. That enough should be evidence for most people.
As others have said, I don’t know if you could call it a plot if it already happened, it done plotted and became reality.
