    1. From reporter Kelby Vera:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) thinks President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iran is grounds for impeachment.

“He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations,” it continued. “It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

While other Democrats have condemned Trump for acting without congressional approval, Ocasio-Cortez’s comments appear to be her party’s strongest rebuke of America’s move to join Israel’s war on Iran.

Then fucking do it. File the articles. Stop saying shit you should be doing.

The list is getting long and the votes to convict do not exist. Get the House and Senate back and go for it. Hopefully, in 2028 the GOP are out and we can put in a person willing to prosecute

    4. I don’t think it’s impeachment worthy because trump bombed iran without congressional approval. Presidents have been doing that since airstrikes were a thing. It’s basically their whole job. Do i like it? No. Should we change it? Yes. But that’s not the reason why it’s impeachment worthy.

It’s impeachment worthy because it’s just so fucking dumb.

Not to play devils advocate. But Biden bombed Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria without congressional approval. Obama bombed Syria, Libya, and Sudan. Bush Jr. we don’t even need to list em. Point is, presidents have historically conducted military operations without congress, so long as it’s short of declaring war.

In short, the precedent set by former presidents allow Trump to do this. So he’s not going to get impeached.

It absolutely is. Is she the only one who hasn’t just given up already? There are like 10 of them who I see fighting, where is everyone else?

    7. That and about a hundred other things. But so what? He’s been impeached twice, and nothing happened. Are we trying to fill out som sort of impeachment punch card. 10 impeachments and we get a free democracy?

She would have a point if that word meant anything, but it doesn’t, and he KNOWS it doesn’t, so he doesn’t care.

Did Joe Biden seek congressional approval before he bombed Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, or Somalia? Did Barak Obama seek congressional approval before he bombed Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, or Pakistan? No they did not.

And indeed it should be. Wanna know why Republicans don’t wanna call this a war? It’s because if it was a war Trump can absolutly be impeached.

She is unfortunately incorrect. There is precedent from Obama, Clinton and Trump 1.0 to use a missile strike without Congressional approval.

So frustrating that Republicans will look at all of this and still back this crazy asshole.

    13. Even_Author_3046 on

Every thing he has done has been impeachment worthy…..
If Biden (not a fan either) did half of what Trump has done Republican Party would have been screaming from the roof that the president is not in his right mind and needs to be impeached. They keep saying words but no actual actions being established

This is bad politicking to me.

I think there’s a better angle, and it’s to blame the 2018 pull out of the JCPOA. That act alone is an impeachable offense, not the bombing.

Obamas JCPOA deal kept Uranium enrichment to 3.6% for 15 years. Trump tore it up and within a year they were at 4.5% and opening more enrichment sites. We could’ve kept them to 3.6% until 2030. He blabbed on how the deal wasn’t harsh enough, and completely glossed over the fact that the harsher version he couldn’t get done at all cause he’s weak at diplomacy.

Iran cannot have nukes, and if they make one under the cover of night, it’ll be trumps fault. That makes Americans unsafe and is impeachable.

    15. Dems can’t get out of their own way. This is a an absolute layup to mock his America first/world peace/negotiation angle.

Instead of taking this easy victory dems are going to let the narrative be “congress hasn’t voted on an act of war since 1942, Obama assassinated Bin Laden but now that it’s trump they’re changing the rules” just stupid

    16. What is the point in talking about his hypothetical impeachment? Why do we keep talking about it as if it still matters? It’s making me feel crazy

    17. waldorflover69 on

So what. I appreciate the sentiment but I am so sick of these statements because all of us know ain’t no one getting impeached or doing jack until the midterms.

    18. lespaulstrat2 on

She did? Well that’s it then. We can all just forget about it and go home now.

A third time will NOT be a charm (nor a fourth, fifth, etc.) I’d say it’s a waste of time, but at least congress do do something for a change, however hopeless.

    20. Beneficial_Ruckalas on

someone should take the law into their own hands and do something about Trump (non-violently)

    21. That’s great. But she doesn’t have the votes. AOC needs to keep her powder dry for after the 2026 midterms.
