      “Leveraging the NewSpace approach” ok they should be fine then and definitely nothing like previous expensive slow European efforts that get cancelled before delivering anything

    2. Space planes are a dead end.

      Dassault is a plane builder, so of course they will propose a space plane (leveraging the studies that were done for Hermes) but taking wings, hydraulics, landing gear, and moving parts, and a heat shield to cover all that surface, to space and back, has a huge weight penalty that serves no purpose for the actual mission and adds cost and risk.

      If you want to bring stuff to orbit and back, you can’t beat a capsule. And there is nothing preventing a modern capsule design from being reusable or doing precision propulsive landings.
