It’s the old logo of the operator, NORLED.
It used to be the Bergen-Havana ferry before the cold war.

Fun fact here: it is similar to the flag of Puerto Rico which was adopted in 1952, so the question is more „why is puerto rico flying the flag of a norwegian company?“
