I appreciate the hope that is still in this headline because I certainly don’t have any.
All part of the plan, they want the country to operate like a business. Businesses are not democratic
Donald Trump, a convicted felon who isn’t allowed to posses a hand gun by our law has complete control over our nuclear warheads and bombers.

Slides? We drove headfirst into it by who we kept electing.

I gotta wonder if our beloved president has ever read from the Book of Daniel, Chapter 5, Verses 25-28.

What’s disturbing to me, whatever we want to call this political approach, is the degree to which Trump has bent Congress, the civil service, the judiciary and the Constitution itself to fit his needs. Our laws and structure assumed anyone serving in such an office would have good intentions. So a law might limit power except in case of an emergency, Trump then declares it’s an emergency and he’s off and running. Congress is pointless, he’s destroyed the civil service, and simply picks and choose what he’ll obey from the judiciary.
Sorry to say, but the coup is done. The judiciary will not save us from this totalitarian. And we still cling to the idea that elections can save us. Looking at what we’re seeing, I have little belief that a „free and fair“ election in which there is any chance the Democrats take the House of Senate will be held in 2026, which will likely be a trial run for how to ensure a result in 2028. Listen to the regime for proof. Not a single member of the Trump team talks like they care for a second about pleasing the electorate for an election. Everything they do is with a forever line of thinking as if they’re permanent. Maybe it’s because they’ve plans to ensure that’s true.
So what’s our out?! Across the globe, and throughout history, only one thing takes these types down. People and protests. Accept they may get ugly. Accept there may be a brutal response from the regime. But it’s up to us. The coup is done, they’ll finish up Project 2025, they’ve already said there’s a part 2, and this is the Orbán playbook in action. When Trump praised Putin and Kim for years, it wasn’t just because he respected them. He wanted to be them.
The sad truth is that a reversal will have to be bloody.
The US has slid from being a functional failed state into one of dysfunction now that its government is defying court orders and the rule of law has crumbled.
The nationalisation of the National Guard and his suggestion that it be deployed in blue states appears to be the first step towards declaration of a state of emergency with martial law.
Lawful protests are now being described as rebellions and he is in the process of manufacturing excuses to justify seizing total control.
He only needs a few more serious events to unfold , such as Iran launching attacks on US soil , or even his own false flag attack to justify pulling the trigger on autocracy.
Slide? We straight up belly flopped into it, like the Republic in Star Wars – „to thunderous applause“.

Yeah this is what we were screaming about in the 90’s when they had already created 2/3 of a totalitarian state under the guise of the „War on Drugs“ which gave more and more and more powers to government to control and invade people’s lives. This did not just start happening, this is what has BEEN happening.
Good news is that they can’t actually achieve it but they can wreck our economy and the USA as we’ve known it will become several different countries, which at this point might be best for everyone.

The only reverse is if America arrests and fully prosecutes the Trumps and their family and the corruption they have surrounded themselves with. If not then that so called experiment is a dismal self induced failure.

I wouldn’t say “slide.” This started decades ago. Trump is just more willing to be openly corrupt and authoritarian than any president in American history.

Yeah, the US will be dealing with Trumpism for a long time and the rest of the world would do well to not rely on them for a good while.
We will know after the mid-terms. If Rupublicans hold both house’s then it’s safe to say they have figured out how to Russiafy votes and it’s over.
I’ve been saying it since the election. These idiots don’t know what the hell they did by voting this MFer in. All the damage that’s been done so far is only just the beginning. It’s going to get far worse.
Luckily Trump is term limited and is old as hell. It won’t be easy for him to argue to be able to serve a third term, I think. And once he’s gone I’m not sure there’s someone else with his charisma and ability to keep his cult engaged and mobilized. If we can get through the next few years we can start undoing the damage. Probably.
We can’t reverse it. Our only hope is another country liberating us. And that won’t happen. So we live under fascism and deserve every bit of it.
Congress could 100% reverse course, they just don’t intend to.
I’m so fucking sick of these goddamn articles. Can we start getting think pieces on how as a society we can come together and combat this? I know there’s books about organizing and uprising so like, let’s get some of that rather than something that shares the exact same title every single fucking day.
