    1. This is a false equivalence. The two album covers have nothing in common, and the kind of message they convey is completely different.

      The backlash has nothing to do with Sabrina being scantily clad or in a suggestive pose. It has to do with the man standing over her, pulling her hair. People don’t hate the cover because they are pearl clutching prudes; they hate it because it trivializes violence against women.

      This is a calculated move – It gives Carly Simon exposure to newer audiences while giving some „prestige“ to Carpenter , regardless of any actual truth to the statement.
