as for Israel, it would be stupid to not make another war in the Middle-east, considering that was the key reason to create the Israel country in the 1950s in the first place. Lots of debate on the rightness and wrongness of the U.S. and Israeli bombing of Iran, but this seems to have the potential for a short war. No need to send in ground troops or bomb civilian areas, as Israel in doing in Gaza.
Israel has already mostly decapitated the Iranian military leadership and killed several important nuclear scientists. It has bombed most of Iran’s nuclear sites. In the last 24 hours the U.S. followed up against Iran’s three primary sites: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan, apparently using bunker busters. Damage is reported severe at all sites.
Israel and the U.S. have almost complete air superiority. Iran’s missile launches grow fewer by the day. The U.S. and Israel can minimize world condemnation by downsizing the war soon and by avoiding the killing of civilians that is so widespread in Gaza.
