Being complicit and supportive of a genocide is also not appropriate

They’re doing brilliantly from all this negative publicity. Selling out venues.
They’d never have done it otherwise as they’re absolute shite, so fair play to them using negative PR to make them rich. They’re playing the game well.
I heard them before all the furore over their politics, and I genuinely thought they were the Norn Irish version of GLC, only GLC actually made some good music. These lads are just piss poor rappers, producers, lyricists, social commentators, whichever way you want to describe them they’re just awful and feeding off the controversy.
They’re more like the Blackout Crew than anything. They just haven’t put a donk on it.

I’m too lazy to actually read an article
Is this something starmer actively decided to say, or was it a question asked by a reporter or something that he *had* to answer.
I feel like there’s a semi important distinction

Does anyone actually give a shit about any of this? Some IRA cosplayers said some edgy shit at a gig, who cares?

Trying to ban them isn’t the way. Better to laugh at them and point out that they are fucking crap and have 6th form level knowledge of politics.

At least Chris Brown is still selling out stadiums.

Luckily, politicians don’t get to decide who should and shouldn’t be allowed to play Glastonbury.

I’m a Labour supporter but government taking a stance on artistic expression is ropey as fuck

If the government properly funded the justice system then the trial would have been over by now and we wouldn’t be in this uncomfortable limbo.

They are free to say and sing what they want, I as a 60+ I may disagree with them but that’s their right.
What fucks me off is all you lefty twats that support Starmer.
If you thought Thatcher was bad Starmer will make her look like a pussycat.

I don’t think it’s appropriate to demonise a band over some hurty words when we’re still complicit in a genocide being carried out by Israel.
I don’t agree with expressing support for Hamas, but let’s get our own house in order first because it’s fucking rich of us as a country to try to take the moral high ground here.

Make sure Starmer is on the Glastonbury panel for which bands play because getting made Prime Minister must be why his opinion is worth listening to on the subject.

In other news, Chris Brown is performing at Spurs’s stadium tomorrow.

Providing intel to Israel on the Palestinians isn’t appropriate either, but here we are. Just doing inappropriate shit. Kneecap providing thoughts and entertainment aren’t going to end in dead women and children the following day though.

Fuck off Starmer. Not said anything about Israel and Netanyahu.

They literally said, „The only good Tory is a dead Tory. ‚Kill your local MP‘ and ‚Up Hamas, up Hezbollah.'“

Fucking hell Starmer..Why is it your business? It’s a hippie music festival that for the majority of it’s history was no way mainstream politics until the self imposed more recent total submission to the engorged commercial cock.
I don’t care for kneecap by the way. It’s hype with no real substance musically. I can’t get pumped up for them as a actual band making music.
I’m so fed up with trying to find anything positive about this government. Even though it’s definitely the best of a bad bunch in my eyes they have nothing to get behind. No guts. Trying to placate reform voters.
It feels like they are going to just continue to play this making everyone dislike them game and next election we get reform in to fuck up everything.

Why don’t they invite Starmer to appear on stage. It would be interesting to see how the crowd treat him compared to Jeremy in 2017

This whole thing is such a shit show. I think it is sensible to clarify that regardless of where anyone stands on Israel/Palestine etc Kneecap told people to kill their local MP. I’m not sure how anyone can honestly expect him to say anything other than effectively ‚I do not think it is appropriate for them to have a platform‘. Anything else would be political suicide.
