To be fair, if you wait too long you wind up with Stranger Things.
I like Gunn but I think he spends way too much time responding to this stuff and, also, interacting with fans on social media. I get that he’s going for transparency but the people he’s irritated with are a minority. I don’t think he needs to keep addressing this over and over.
This is going to be another “GRRM is not your bitch” situation, isn’t it?
Gunn gets it, because he’s been there. Really important for a studio head to have that. Hopefully that remains during his time at DC.

I don’t expect Batman 2 to happen at all, but let’s be real here. Pattinson is getting old, he’s older than Bale was in DKR. This is no longer the young new Batman. It’s just another Batman story of an older Batman that we’ve all seen already. So who gives a shit anymore, the time has passed, you took too long

James Gunn needs to lay off social media and just do his thing.
They’re waiting to see if Superman fails or not.
If it fails, Batman 2 is a go.
If it succeeds, Batman 2 will be scrapped and Gunn will make his own version that fits the tone of his new DCCU better.
They should just cancel Batman 2. It doesn’t really seem like anyone involved is really interested. I suspect the possible huge payday is only reason faking the interest now.

I’m just tired of being told to respect these people. Tax the distraction industry, writing off entire movies because you hired dog shit people like it is the American people’s fault.
It’s because The Batman premiered 3 years ago, and no progress has been made on a follow up film.
They are bugging him because they liked his film and want to see more, but if they got a script TODAY, we wouldn’t have a film till probably summer 2027, if at all.
People aren’t being impatient when it’s 5 years on.
We consume visual media like sugar now. We’re shoveling it in as fast as we can and it only makes us want more without delay. It’s unsustainable in a binge watching world.

Are people clamoring that hard for this? I haven’t heard anyone mention it in quite a while. I thought the first one was okay, and I really enjoyed The Penguin. I’m sure I’ll see it when it comes out, but I’m not losing sleep waiting for it or anything.
