Pretty disturbing coming from such a low base that there is a perceptible decline.

I so appreciate Colbert’s constant exposing of the cartoonish and comical sides of Trump’s senseless villainy. If not for him (and some of his late night colleagues) there would be far too little to mitigate the misery of having to endure the existence of this vacuous orange creep.
I took care of my mother for four years before I put her in a nursing home due to Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Trump looks like he suffers from at least Dementia. The big tip-off was Trump claiming he’s talked to all these world leaders and national politicians on the phone, and everyone he says that about is like, „WTF? I never talked to you.“
My mother used to go into great detail about how a sister she was estranged from came to visit her regularly in the nursing home. After speaking to nurses, they said she didn’t have visitors that day.
He also looks confused a lot, needs to be steered by aides from bumping into walls, walking the wrong way, and falling up steps. The 1-3am social media rants he’s prone to point to a mind that’s not in good shape.
He’s got MAD skills.

I think Saturday Night Live and all these daily talk shows should all collectively come together and stop all the comedy and satire. I feel like it’s desensitized and normalized things for people. We need to stand back assess the situation and tell everyone this is not normal and we need to make a stand media is partly to blame the way society is now is not right. I can’t watch him anymore because of that. But I always appreciated his material.
He had skills back in 2015. He was actually a great demagogue. You could feel his speachifing reaching for the controls of your mid brain, talking to your inner child. I think that may be gone.
Trump will probably have to go into a care home by the end of the year, but he can carry on working for now, as long as he only has to work a couple of hours a day for perhaps three days a week.
For almost two years the media harped about Biden’s mental acuity.

Various people have been ’sounding the alarm‘ about trump’s mental state for 10 years now, it’s 2025. Just like people have been ’sounding the alarm‘ about fascism for the last 20 years, so now when it’s actually here, the general population is just meh.
