I will not even say what I wish to those few of our citizens who dragged us into war and assisted the aggressor. They made us all suffer for generations. And I’m not talking about the ban itself. It’s the disgrace that really hurts.

This is the authorities essentially acknowledging their incompetence and inability to screen people who really represent a threat to their country and slapping a blanket ban on everybody based on the colour of their passport. I mean, when they review applications for visas and residence/work permits, what do they actually do all that, I suppose, quite considerable time if not reviewing the applicant’s background? Or are they saying that, even after all those reviews they still aren’t sure whether he or she constitutes a threat or not? Don’t the taxpayers wonder what their money goes into?
I might add that, if they are really so scared of possible aggression, the logical move would be to ensure there ARE citizens and property of the aggressor country on your territory, so they would not be so keen to bomb the shit out of it. Not that I am advocating importation of Russians and Belarusians in industrial quantities and replacement of the national culture with the foreign one, just pointing out a logical inconsistency in their actions.
