£22million, that’s rookie numbers – Edinburgh University’s head honchos, led by that bastion of leadership Peter Mathieson (look up his record at Hong Kong University if you want to what sort of person he is), have mispent on vanity projects to the tune of £200,000,000 – and there’s more than £50,000,000 of building projects on the cards. Their solution – sack the rest of the staff, not the folk who made the short sighted egotistcal idiotic decisions.
There’s a strike tomorrow.

Not sure why this BBC article has failed to mention that this is the university that Labour’s Wendy Alexander worked for until November 2024. She left once news of the financial crisis became known (https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/5130057/dundee-university-wendy-alexander/). She was then controversially put into the House of Lords despite a preliminaryinvestigation into the financial crisis at Dundee University being underway.
