Comedy is the fastest to age. What was funny 20 years ago, feels cringe and outdated now. But SNL is timely, and they’re not thinking about being ashamed in 20 years when they’re done performing

A big part of comedy is testing boundaries. When you test boundaries, sometimes you’re gonna fail.
And that’s okay, as long as you learn from your mistakes, you admit that you made them and, most importantly, you don’t repeat them.

It also helps they don’t go on about how comedy isn’t comedy anymore and they should be able to make their jokes because they have a black friend (or insert whatever type of person here) so it should be cool and how dare people say their comedy is in poor taste..

Problematic?
There should be nuance—
Rob Schneider or Kid Rock in black face = not funny and probably offensive.
Fred Rogers is black face would have been hilarious.
Kanye West in blackface would be….. confusing

The story above this one in the app’s news feed is about the Arak heavy water facility in Iran having been hit by missiles. I like SNL as much as the next person who regards it as funny about ten percent of the time, but I’m not sure that the Reddit app’s News tab knows what news is and what news isn’t.

I guess the long awaited SNL return of Poehler’s Michelle Obama impression ain’t happening. Shame.

Ironically enough a troublish sketch character like Pat is actually a positive one because they just didn’t give a fuck and kept an upbeat attitude while declining to give them straightforward answers when others tried to discover their gender.
What definitely hasn’t aged well though are those sketches where Chris Kattan humps people without their consent 😄

They are just jokes. Laugh and move on
