I tend to believe a person with a law degree and a successful career in investment banking over a stable genius that bankrupted cash cow casinos as well as other businesses and is destroying the economy by his tariffs that as other world nations ignore him and negotiate trade deals among themselves.
All the other major economies are lowering rates. Staying the course is sensible. The developed nations are ganging up against America because of Trump’s boisterous stupidity. It was predictable.

Accurate. A 55% tax increase on common goods isnt going to help struggling Americans. Neither will giant increase in gas prices due to Israel attacking Iran.
It is likely that the economy is going to tank. Trump will use Powell as the scapegoat for the policy mistakes he made. This will be the typical republican recession on steroids.

I gotta be honest. I watched his remarks and press conference and this headline is a bit inflammatory. I know that’s crazy to believe, a headline embellishing a situation.
Afraid the warnings from the Fed or anyone else don’t matter, 🍑🍑 will do more tariffs anyway. Repubs want their next multi-trillion dollar tax cut for the rich, and that’s not going to pay for itself. They’re counting on money from tariffs to pay for that. (It won’t even nearly pay for that huge new gap, but that won’t stop them.)
