Ich bin seit 7 Jahren in Deutschland und werde einen internationalen Auftrag machen außerhalb der EU für 2 Jahre. Um nicht in zwei Jahren alles wieder einsetzen zu müssen, versuche ich einen billigen Weg zu finden, um meine deutsche Telefonnummer zu behalten und auch Übersee-Codes zu erhalten.
Ich fand eine Lösung durch Kombination Satelliten (virtuelle Nummer) und Phonisch (reelle Zahl). Mit Satellit kann ich telefonieren und empfangen, wenn ich über Wi-Fi oder meinen ausländischen Datenservice mit dem Internet verbunden bin. Aber ihre SMS -Funktion ist ziemlich wackelig und meine Verifizierungscodes gehen ziemlich oft verloren. Also scheint Fonic die Lösung zu sein: gemäß ihren Angaben Preisliste (Seite 7), wenn Sie SMS beim Durchstreifen außerhalb der EU erhalten, ist kostenlos.
Meine Fragen: Gibt es da draußen noch andere Optionen, insbesondere wenn ich nur einen Dienst anstelle von zwei nutzen kann? Hat jemand schon Fonic benutzt und wie war es? Danke schön.

Do you need to be reachable via SMS the whole time? If not, I would get a prepaid sim in the country you are going to and swap to your German sim once or twice a day to check for SMS. Or use them both with dual sim, if you phone supports that.
The big question is if you want to use your German number during your stay abroad or not.
If you just want to keep your number, I would change to a prepaid service before leaving the country. Register an account and charge 15 Euro to your prepaid card. Then in one year charge it again with 15 Euro. That way you will keep your number for 2 years.
Formally, you are obligated to tell the prepaid provider your new address abroad, and I am not sure if they might terminate your account when you move abroad. But if you don’t use your sim card anyway for 2 years then nobody will care about you not renewing your registered address for the sim card until you come back.
If you really want to keep using the sim card abroad then I am not sure if this will work. It could be that they disconnect your sim card after having been logged-in abroad for a while (roaming).
