US companies are literally spending hundreds of billions of dollars building the next generation of frontier models, there is no way the Canadian government could compete with that.
As a public servant, we don’t need in-house AI tools right now.
We need in-house database systems that we know are safe and secure, that come with the front end forms and data entry that we can customize, and data output reports that we can customize. Think licencing or client management systems.
Give us a made in Canada recreation of MS Access so that we can stop paying billions of dollars to developers who are giving us 5000 of the same thing, across the federal and provincial systems.
Then figure out the AI tools that can help run these systems.
