The violence and cruelty that some people will inflict on animals for simply daring to exist in their vicinity is really sickening.
Reading stuff like this makes me so bloody angry. Some people are just scum.

I’d get banned if I said what I thought should happen to the woman. So I’ll just say I hope she’s prosecuted for this. And a good social media shaming.
Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, it’s illegal to intentionally or recklessly injure or kill a wild animal that is vulnerable to extinction. Hedgehogs are listed in that category.
Where are the RSPCA? Where are the police? Six accounts of animal death and one of animal abuse, that’s a fuckload of criminal charges. And people who abuse animals repeatedly statistically have a perpensity to turn their crimes towards humans if they aren’t caught quickly or early enough – so it’s a fucking good incentive for something to be done about it.
PSA: hedgehogs will NOT „mess up“ your garden. Their favourite foods are slugs and snails (i.e. the creatures who actually will destroy your plants), so having a hedgehog around will actually help your garden stay pretty.
