Is there a magnet on the bottom? In some bathrooms years ago, there was a pin, that you could put into hard soap. Then you could attach the soap to a similar holder on the wall.
It’s a magnet that’s used to hold a soap bar.
There was once a pice of glass on there for soap.
I guess that one got damaged and now you only have the metal pice left.

Is it magnetic underneath? Then it is a soap holder, where u put a magnet on a soap beforehand. I know those things back from my childhood. Never seen this again since maybe 30-40 years…
