Most cultures are more conservative than „Canadian culture“. (Define it how you will.)
So this shift is no surprise.
I don’t understand at all. News are saying that young men are conservative and now immigrants are conservative too. How does the Liberals won elections??
Canada is a great mystery for me…
I had a conversation with some immigrants and people born here that were visible minorities about lgbtq stuff. Apparently they don’t want to be discriminated against for being a minority, but were fine discriminating against gay and trans people.
I also find that a lot of people I’ve known on the left fail to understand that a lot of immigrants come from conservative societies, so they’re bringing conservative views with them. Just because you’re an ‘ally’ of theirs doesn’t mean they’re going to be an ‘ally’ for all your friends.
