Privately, I have always wondered if it isn’t a cycle. A big bang. Expansion, till everything is recompressed into multiple black holes, they collide, start over

This has been theorized for a while now why is this just making headlines? Did we find some new evidence that points us in that direction?
That’s what happens. The universe expands, it is consumed by black holes. Eventually forming one, super black hole. Then it goes bang again!
