Scoop: Netanyahu bittet uns, die Verhandlungen der Israel-Syrien zu vermitteln

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked U.S. envoy to Syria Tom Barrack to mediate a round of peace negotiations between Israel and the new Syrian government led by Ahmad al‑Sharaa. This would mark the first official Israel–Syria talks since 2011, following Assad’s removal from power.

Netanyahu is interested in negotiating a security agreement, as a midpoint on the way to a full peace agreement.
