Gen Z steht vor Jahrzehnten vor der schlimmsten Arbeitslosenquote der Jugend. So ist es anders

We’re pushing my generation out of the country. A large portion of the people I know with any sort of STEM degree or higher education are rightly looking abroad for employment now because the average wait time here in Canada is 6-7 months minimum for a job in their field that pays 50% of what you’d make elsewhere. We aren’t creating jobs in Canada anymore outside of government work and even then those are all requiring 5-10 years of experience, the entry level job market is basically extinct

Perfect example, a very good friend of mine finished her bachelors and masters in a STEM field, has years of experience in the field including government work, 7 months after graduation she had heard back from one company after putting out hundreds of applications, she couldn’t get a job at a grocery store or pet store. Started looking in the US and got a job within a month for double the salary she was being offered in Canada.

And that doesn’t even begin to talk about anyone without a higher education, everything from Tims to entry level office work is being contested by thousands of applicants, you have the highly educated individuals who can’t find entry level jobs fighting for retail jobs at your local mall with 500 guys from India, your local high school students and anyone else who happens to find themselves unemployed right now.
