Good for him. It’s important there’s no ambiguity on where he stands on issues like this. And it will make some of his more conservative tendencies more palatable to a lot of people, which can only help with stability I would think.
I wonder if he walks in a parade this year?
I’m going to get a lot of hate for this but this is what makes a good leader. I respect this outreach and believe public money should go to public events like these.
I’m glad to see Carney doing this. I was a little concerned with how light the Liberal platform was on 2SLGBTQ+ issues this time around that maybe he decided to turn a blind eye to the rise in bigotry. It was clear that he was an ally, but in light of everything going on, it’s more important than ever for the government to take a firm stance and not be wishy washy in order to appease the pearl clutchers.
This is such a milquetoast gesture, its so sad that it actually puts him ahead of many centrist global leaders who have cowered to anti-LGBTQ movements.
