      Gotta give him credit: many people saddled with the moniker „Prince Bone Saw“ (for ordering the murder and cutting up of a New York Times journalist that he didn’t like) would quietly retreat from public life and just become another billionaire sex yacht libertine cocaine party dude. But not Mr. Saw. He’s made of stouter stuff.

      If Carney can pull a few „Bs“ from him, why not?

      Hopefully Carney knows what he is doing.

      Gross, but pragmatism is the order of the day, so if needs must…

      That said: there’s a fine line between pragmatism and utterly amoral, hardcore realpolitik, and will try to remain as objective as possible if/when Canada crosses that line (bc all available evidence indicates that the latter is corrosive as fuck).

      As an aside, not especially conflicted about the modi invite – yes, the whole “assassinating Canadian citizens” is bad (especially when so sloppily executed), but not inviting India isn’t really a viable option.

      We are no position to start playing morality police with global leaders. If the people of that country have chosen in one way or another that Leader…it is what it is. Let’s talk ball.

      As I told my conservative friends before the election: you guys have two options a traditional fiscal progressive conservative or a nut job from the reform party. They get what I meant now and are loving Carney so far. For me as a progressive it’s still better than PP but I’m not enthusiastic about this government.
