Ich ging zum Tourismus nach Belarus und fing an, seltsame kyrillische Nachrichten auf meine lokale Telefonnummer zu erhalten. Kann jemand erklären, was los ist?

I am not from Belarus, but this got recommended to me. Probably the previous owner registered on scam/spam full websites. You can ignore them. The message is pretty funny though 😂

Text looks like hilariously out of context mobile game notifications or something, because it doesn’t make sense otherwise.
But really maybe it’s just a bait for you to text back so they can steal some money, I have no idea honestly. I would just ignore that

this is russian. if this is an isolated case, then most likely it is a mistake

I would just ignore it. Some weird spam I guess. It says “in a minute your rat will get rabies. Do you want a vaccine?”
GreenBlueCatfish on
It translates to „In one minute, your rat will contract rabies. Would you like to vaccinate it?“
Do you have a rat? 🙂

I don’t know about Belarus, but in Romania we have something called RO-Alert. If there is a wild bear on the streets in your area, if there is a big storm coming, if there are russian drones falling over the border, etc. (so basically any danger that may affect you) you get a message on your phone in both Romanian and English warning you. It’s funny when they all start ringing at the same time (everyone in a specific area gets them).

I would be concerned about your rat.

What’s really weird is that if you google this exact message the only result you get is some old Ukrainian web forum for ‚amateur hackers‘ and how to make ‚.BAT viruses‘. Still no clue why this comes to you in an sms though.

I got the exact same text, just in English lol

Most likely, your mobile service provider has subscribed you to some premium text services. You can call them asking to disable, unless you don’t mind paying extra. This goes enabled by default with some of the mobile plans.
