I do firmly believe Trump would like to provoke a second civil war because he thinks that it’ll be great television.
Tom Homan said someone will lose their life. That’s proof that that’s what they want to do. They *want* to murder liberals. Think of all the times conservatives have said they can’t wait to shoot liberals, or „just wait till the civil war,“ when it will be „open season“ on liberals. Kevin Roberts, the leader behind Project 2025, said „the revolution will be bloodless, if the left allows it to be.“
These are clear indications they’re going to shoot protesters. You don’t say that kind of 5h¡+ without intent for it to happen.
Trump has always been interested in shooting people. Since he took office, he’s only ever escalated the violence against us: releasing violent criminals and spreading terror with secret police tactics. He’s going to use this as an excuse to have troops fire into the crowd.
Republican policy can be summed thusly: „Are you hurting the right people?“
Deploying troops will play to the base, showing ’strength‘. The realities on the ground don’t mater. It’s all about perception, of punishing the ‚other‘ that they have demonized to their constituency. Any other explanation is disingenuous pablum to distract from the real goal: To make the fearful feel protected.

To Governor Newsome:
Title 10 of the US Code does NOT give the President unilateral authority to call out the National Guard.
The steps required are:
Congress must declare a National Emergency. “ In time of war or of national emergency declared by Congress“
The consent of the Governor of the State the of the National Guard units must be obtained. „units and members of the Army National Guard of the United States or the Air National Guard of the United States may not be ordered to active duty under this subsection without the consent of the Governor of the State.“
Any Executive Order, Memorandum, by the ~~President~~ Dictator, are illegal and should not be entertained as leagal.
As Governor, you are still in command of the California National Guard. As such, you can order the California National Guard to not muster, or muster and provide security at Immigration Court Houses and wherever ICE shows up, to prevent the illegal detention and abduction of residents, both immigrants undergoing review and US Citizens, of your state.
