The article reports that the PEI Greens membership quadrupled to ~800 members during this leadership race.
Matt Marcfarlane won 507 votes, and his opponent Hannah Bell recieved 147 votes.
Matt Marcfarlane had won a seat for the Greens in a by-election in February 2024, which the Greens had never held before.
Congrats to him. Thought it might be closer than that. It will help to have the leader already elected. But I’m thankful to both candidates for trying and making it a race.
I had meant to pay more attention to the race (I have donated and was a member) but unfortunately I didn’t, so it’s hard to compare and contrast them myself. But that’s a lot of support behind Matt and I wish him and the party well.
