Our economy is barely growing and people are demanding we increase our disability benefit spending by billions for rising cases of OCD and ADHD. Please get serious.

The issue is that people have forgotten what ‘benefits’ were intended to be – a temporary help-out in between jobs. They were never intended to be a long term option (hells, as someone who grew up on a council estate being ‘on benefits’ carried an almighty stigma). Most council house occupants were on low incomes despite being in employment.

*Out of 38 people in a non-representative sample, where they haven’t published the actual survey.

Also, when reading the actual report, this quote stood out to me:

      >“I personally have severe social anxiety and I get panic attacks around people? I would love to return to work but I am not sure how I could be supported? I think I would literally need a babysitter at all times.“

I’m gonna be honest here: Either this person is taking the piss (Your standard Gen Z style „Can’t handle actual life“ bs), or they need to be on heavy medication.
