Just an hour or so ago I commented on the other story about Quebec immigration.
Here is the reality – We have to figure out immigration in Canada.
Outside of our First Nations & Indigenous Peoples we are all immigrants or from immigrant families. This should be a place of solidarity not division and animosity.
Immigration is a mess. Not acknowledging that isn’t helping anyone or anything.
Immigration has to be rescued from programs like the Temporary Foreign Worker Program/LMIA Process. It and other programs like it have to be scrapped and or completely reformed.
We have to start having a government regardless of who is in power at federal and provincial levels that aren’t completely in the pockets of the business lobby. They’ve taken this whole cheap exploitable labour dimension to such a level it’s caused some really ugly societal realities to start becoming more and more prevalent.
It’s time for our nation to deal with this head on and by extension help undercut the bad actors that are only interested in pumping xenophobia and racism.
25,000 per year will, if ever carried out, will eventually mean absolute population decline in Quebec, no?
How will Quebec retain its importance in Canada’s federation if it shrinks?
It’s fascinating witnessing Quebec bring on their own economic and demographic demise with these ludicrous cuts to immigration, primarily due to influence from far-right ideologies perpetuated by a tiny but vocal minority.
Oh well. Quebec’s loss is RoC’s gain.
