You could tell the whole story changed post-production because of all the bad voice overs that didn’t even match the actors lip movements.
No one blamed her. Everyone blamed the dumbass execs over at Sony.
Studios are famous for taking a perfectly good movie and fouling it up in the editing room because some accountants think they have the magic formula for a big box-office returns.
A movie about an EMT that uses vehicular assault to stop crime would have been good if they just leaned into it and kept spiderman out of it.
The irony here that she doesn’t seem to be aware of is that those „people who don’t have a creative bone in their body“ are the same people who are casting her as the lead in their movies.
I’ve yet to see her in a movie where she was either actually good in it or a better actor would have done a significantly better job with the role.
Look it wasn’t remotely her fault. But she certainly didn’t do anything to help matters.
Having a charisma black hole at the center of the movie who then shit on it in interviews wasn’t the saving grace. I think she can work in the right role. But if it’s not the right role she will not live up to the challenge.
For an example, Thunderbolts bombing wasn’t Florence Pugh’s fault AND she did everything in her power to make it work. She was delightful in the movie.
Madame Web does the most maddening thing a film can do for me, which is having the protagonist say the least funny thing imaginable and the entire cast around them cracks up laughing. Yuck!

In a movie that was bad too to bottom she still managed to standout as particularly bad.
Bad creative decisions are not the reason she hasn’t bothered to act in her whole acting career.

She is to blame for a terrible acting which she has shown to be her style almost everytime

I enjoyed Madem Web. It wasn’t some award winning movie, but it was fun.
She and Sydney both basically said it was a paycheck movie and were going thru the motions. I didn’t watch the movie but reading what they said about it gives the assumption they did the bare minimum of what they were asked.
And she doesn’t have an acting bone in her body either, that whole movie was just flat

First allegedly locking people inside of a coffee shop, and now saying stating the obvious. She needs to be more humble and not take things so personally.
