This absolute fucking clown is going to murder the US space program over his own ego.
We can’t say we weren’t warned.

Kinda stupid that they let one man have the power to take down an entire program but here we are.

And once again, the good people working on exploration and progress of humanity are under the leadership of people who will burn it all down for their own political gain… americans are the losers in all of this

I guess that would be a breech of contract. And I thought SpaceX was all about re-usability?

While I am not a huge fan of Elon Musk, I do support his position on decommissioning. The only way to deal with a bully like Trump is to call his bluff. He counts on people backing down, and yet, he is the one with the TACO nickname.

as much as I hate to say that this is going to be bad for space exploration (it is, absolutely) it’s good to see this being aired out now because maybe it will wake up investors and the government (as shit as they are) to realize that putting all your bets on ONE company is not the smartest of ideas, we need competition from other companies and this is going to allow it finally (Hopefully…)

Shame. There’s good people working at Spacex

And what about the lives of the astronauts on the ISS? This is getting weird.

If only we had a government agency who’s been sending astronauts to space for 70 plus years. Oh well

This is the reason NASA has to be a agency. The moment you put one person in charge they screw it up. Even 10 people screw it up. It has to be an entire agency to even have a chance at working.

Hey guys, where are all the people that said Musk and Trump are good for space?

I am no fan of Elon and think Starship’s orbital capabilities are in question.
That being said Space-X is an efficient and effective launch mechanism with impressively powerful chemical rockets. I criticize Space-X every chance I get but the things they do well they do better than anyone.
The things NASA does they do better than anyone. Anything off orbit NASA is king with honorable mentions to the ESA, CNSA, JAXA, Roscosmos, ISRO and actually they all work in conjunction. Everyone brings something to the table.
The in-fighting between Musk and Trump is either for show or just cracks showing in this already shitshow administration which will temporarily hurt western space exploration but there’s no way they will let China win the race to a moon presence, Mars mission, etc…

Both Trump and Musk run their mouths without thinking things through. Sometimes you have to think, „The thing I’m about to say. Will it increase my profits?“. Will this open things up for Bezos and Blue Origin?

Usually when children throw temper tantrums some toys get broken and maybe some juice gets spilled. Here we are witnessing two toddlers, one the richest man in America and the other in control of the nuclear arsenal have a temper tantrum about control of the country as if they are toys. And because of this, our space program will suffer, science and technology development will suffer, research will suffer for no fucking reason.
Aliens please take me! I can’t stand this shit.
