It’s better than nothing, but these numbers don’t inspire hope:
> As of May 28, 153 U.S. physicians have been licensed this year, and another 278 applications are in the works.
So assuming all of them get licensed, that’s 431 new doctors. That’s great! However:
> Ontario, like most jurisdictions across the country and North America, is in dire need of doctors and nurses, and estimates about 2 million people in the province don’t have a doctor — though the Ontario Medical Association believes the number to be double that.
~400 doctors for ~4 million people doesn’t make much of a dent in a problem.
