Yeah we’ve been through this before. They’ll say no. They’ll say they have no power over what happens in an El Salvador prison and have no power to bring them back. These people have been disappeared. And nobody will face any consequences for refusing the judge’s orders.
It’s cute these people still think we live in a functioning democracy

The only leverage they have is to lock up the DOJ attorneys that lie to the judge, or go after the funds that are being paid to that prison which may require Republicans to grow a spine and threaten to withhold funds. After all, they are supposed to have the power of the purse.
As I said 1000 times now… Normally DOJ would handle this. But they are Trump’s personsl SS. So they will need to deputize new agents.
Contempt already! Lock up the DOJ lawyers, Bondi and Noem in jail until they are returned.
And when they inevitably ignore the order?
Start throwing people in jail for contempt of court until they get someone to something.
Oh man imagine the interviews with them.

Boasberg hates DJT with a passion. I’d be shocked if this administration complies with this order and brings them back from the prison. He’ll probably get the SCOTUS to say “ok, starting now” and grandfather the cases of those already in El Salvador.
Also, legal judgments are absurdly long. 69 pages??
That’s not what the order says, this headline is completely wrong.
It says they are entitled to due process but does not specify where that has to occur. So, essentially it orders that they receive hearings before an immigration judge to determine if they are subject to removal.
The judge specifically declined to rule on where that needs to happen.

Can’t the judge be more specific this time around and instead of saying “facilitate the return of such and such” they’ll say “You must bring these people back within this time period to US soil by whatever means necessary otherwise find yourself in contempt of court and face jail time for anyone bar the president of the United States contravening these orders.”

Ok, so isn’t the USA the most sue-happy, lawsuit-obsessed nation in the history of civilization? You spill hot coffee on yourself, and if BurgerWorld had it a few degrees to hot you get millions.
There is process here, very specific rules about what can and can’t be done? Violating those rules and sending people to one-way prisons that don’t comply with the US rules opens up the potential for really a lot of HUGE lawsuits, does it? I guess some laws are different if people are illegal, maybe the Trump administration has some shields? But it seems like this is opening up really a lot of potential lawsuits…??
