> “[Carrie Fisher] came to see a Broadway show of mine,” Hamill said. “And in the playbill, in my bio, I listed all my theater credits and at the end it said, ‘He’s also known for a series of popular space movies.’ And she goes, ‘What’s the deal? How come you don’t mention “Star Wars”?’ And I said, ‘Well, I want to show that I have a resume that includes extensive theater credits.’ And she said, ‘Hey, get over yourself. You’re Luke Skywalker. I’m Princess Leia. Embrace it.’”
Yet another reason Fisher was the GOAT.
To paraphrase Carrie Fisher: she knew she was stuck with that bitch.
„Guys and dolls, we’re just a bunch of crazy guys and dolls. Ooh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.“
My head canon: You’re Luke Fucking Skywalker
Carrie Fisher was just the best.
I mean people were going to go because his name was on the marquee. His name was there because Star Wars. People want to bring home playbills with his picture so they can tell their friends they saw Luke Skywalker do a little dance and sing.
She’s not wrong! Carrie was an awful actress but a brilliant wit and a good writer. I always loved her interviews. Postcards from The Edge is a great book, and movie.
I love this story because it’s vintage Carrie Fisher. I love it because it shows Hammill’s humility in accepting Fisher’s critique. I especially love it because Hammill shows what a standup guy he is by wanting Star Wars to go on without him rather than milk it for more.
Carrie Fisher was a real dame
I fucking love Carrie Fisher for this. Honestly this is one of my biggest pet peeves. You played an icon, it might not have been the one you wanted but so few people get to be an iconic character it’s basically statically impossible. Embrace it.
He’s one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever met
Carrie was a treasure. Feels so weird to so thoroughly miss someone I never even met.
*Luke be a jedi toniiiight! Just be a jedi toniiight!*
If he really was Luke Skywalker, he wouldn’t be supporting the genocide in Gaza
But then eventually agreed to the remade Luke for The Last Jedi, which was a character assassination.
Almost every quote from her I imagine it being said offhandedly while smoking a cigarette
Say what you want about MH, but he took this suggestion to heart. The work he does in children’s hospitals is pure class
He has always been a stick in the mud
True but he will always be the joker to me
Glad he embraced it.
I cried so hard when she died, followed by her mom the next day. Space Mom was so wise.
He’s also Cock-knocker. BONG!
Meanwhile, Joker is laughing in Warner Bros.
