What a load of fearmongering bullshit. Both we and Russia are nuclear armed countries and while we can help Ukraine strike Russia, Russia cannot do the same to the UK.

They need a war to distract from the other problems, and seem determined to get it. Also a lot of resources there for the taking if Putin can be brought down and a puppet installed. Personally I struggle to see a country with a lower GDP than Italy, which is unable to beat a country with a third of its population, getting very far taking on NATO. Which I believe Russia has zero interest in doing.

For anyone wondering why the UK might be a target, it’s not exactly out of nowhere. Our top commanders and forces have effectively been engaged in a proxy war with Russia since 2014. As long as Western-supplied weapons keep landing on Russian positions, the chances of the UK being struck go up. So yes, I do take the threat seriously.

That said, if anything like that were to happen, it’s unlikely the first strikes would be random. Strategic logic says they’d hit military sites and weapons manufacturing hubs first places that actually affect a country’s ability to retaliate or defend.

What bothers me more is that the current messaging feels more like psychological conditioning than anything practical. The real fragility is in our supply chains. If they go down, we’re in far more immediate trouble than if a missile hits a military base. What people actually need is guidance on how to survive as a community without relying on global logistics proper planning, local resilience, real preparedness. Instead, we’re getting vague „awareness training“ that doesn’t address any of the real-world consequences of being struck like missiles.

The thing is if your economic plan is military Keynesianism, you have to find ways to use all the weapons you stockpile, which means you have to manufacture military conflicts. This is how the US works – it’s no coincidence that they are regularly involved in wars. Out of the 244 years the US has been in existence it has been involved in wars for 222 of them.

For years all I’ve read is how Russia continually fail against Ukraine, how Russia is putting prisoners and North Koreans on the front line because they have reduced man-power, how they’re using obsolete technology and equipment because they aren’t as advanced as they let the world believe, how their military logistics are in disarray due to corruption at every level.

You can’t publish all of those „feel good“ stories and THEN change direction and tell me they will become a tangible threat any day now.

I’m meant to believe that Russia has been holding back and they’re suddenly going to become some superior fighting force?

At this stage I’d be surprised if they even had nukes that worked.
