Literally the *only* reason he was elected was because he was going to go toe-to-toe with Trump. Elbows up, right?
They’ve kind of painted themselves into a corner by making the election exclusively about this, and don’t have a ton of room to manoeuvre around strong retaliatory measures.
One thing that is undebatable is that Trump and his cohorts have made sure all of the closest allies to the United States of America hate their guts.
There was a prior discussion around how Trump doesn’t understand that there is other forms of bargaining/perspectives than simply „Winner take all“.
The next four years are going to be painful. This isn’t going to stop.
Why?
Let the Americans eat higher prices from a smaller steel supply.
By the time Carney gets around to retaliating, before you know it, it’s TACO time.
