I’m from Joensuu originally but been living abroad for the past 13 years. These pics make me miss the calmness and serenity.

I’m Karelian from my mother’s side, lived in Ilomantsi for few years and spent over 20 years traveling there to see my grandmother until her passing in 2020. Not sure if I could move there myself, but seeing photos like these gave me a big sigh of yearning. It’s a place that sticks with you I guess.
