I hope it goes extraordinarily poorly for that demon. It won’t change anything- but I hope he gets to bathe in humiliation for a few hours.
Will this even matter? Republicans never care about the debt and deficit when they are in the White House. Voters never hold them accountable when they pretend to care when a Democrat is elected.

They’ve started, House Appropriations Chair Joyce is reading his opening statement talking about OMB’s role in the „critical role … in the reshaping of the federal government“.
Ranking Dem (Hoyer) is starting his opening statement by accusing Vought of being a „danger“ to the federal budget process and the Republic more generally. Referencing the 70k+ federal employees he represents, and Vought’s quote about federal employees be treated so that they’re ‚traumatically‘ affected.
Rep. DeLauro (D-Connecticut, the Representative with the signature purple hair) is opening her statement after Hoyer pointing out that Vought is violating the law by not spending congressionally-appropriated funds, „making the cost of living crisis work“, and stacking the civil service with „political allies“.

Vought is claiming that the federal government is not required to „push every last dollar out the door“, i.e. is allowed to impound congressionally-appropriated funds.

DeLauro, in the course of asking Vought about why the admin is ‚picking and choosing‘ what funds to spend, is now currently pretty plainly saying that she thinks Vought is lying and saying that this is not worth discussing with him further.
Vought is now being asked to define „cultural Marxism“ by Rep. Pocan (a term which Vought has used and which has Nazi origins).
Rep. Edwards (R) apologizes on behalf of Rep. Pocan (presumably) for the „badgering“ that Vought is getting.
So this isn’t the „big beautiful bill“?
