I’ve heard this same story from a buddy who died briefly. He said its the most peaceful experience that one person can have. Like nothing was wrong or anything would ever be wrong again.
Been there , but then I remember my dogs are home and I don’t get to quit them and I drop kick saint peter and swan dive off the cloud in to my body. I’m sure in reality i was making a right ass of myself but still

Uhhh that’s depressing… so this dude is an idiot and almost kills himself using a piece of machinery incorrectly that he wasn’t qualified to be using and tells the world how great being dead is and he should be praised? Fucking weird man lol

He’s made this whole incident his entire identity. Won’t stop talking about it 24/7. I get it was life or death but get a new conversation piece or move on.
I was in a horrific car accident, I was in a coma for a week and when I woke up, it was the most serene feeling. That first moment I had no cares in the world, I was not worried about anything even though I was looking around the hospital room with tubes in my mouth and nose hooked to a ventilator,I just did not care. If I could recapture that feeling, I would give anything for it. It was the most peaceful I’ve ever been.
Days before my dad passed, he suffered from seizures and they got worse towards the end, but when he came back from one of them he told my mom „If that’s what dying’s like, it’s not so bad.“
I can’t wait to die!

I’ve also heard/read countless stories/testimonials of wounded people having the exact opposite experience.
I do see how death could be appealing versus explaining how you ran yourself over with your own snow plow though.
Nobody has ever come back from complete brain death, so be skeptical of the hype. Also, a brain being slowly deprived of oxygen for any reason, is a very different journey towards “death” than a brain experiencing the myriad of other ways humans (and all other living creatures) die.
Look you don’t have to brag to me how nice it sounds to be dead, no more alarms, driving, and bills.

How long is this guy gonna milk his accident?
This is how I felt during a bone marrow biopsy when they gave me ketamine. Obviously I have no idea if it’s the same, but it was absolutely an out of body experience and I felt very connected to everything. Afterwards I felt an incredible sense of peace that lasted for a week or more.

I just talked about this in therapy, two separate experiences of this. Hard thing to overcome if you have a hard recovery or compromised life ahead of you. I remember the feeling so vividly which makes it tougher. Also saw a light which I was about to reach before I came back, so I like to tell whatever it was that sent me back that it better be worth it.

This was the hardest part of my experience. Ended up in deep therapy because all I want in life is to experience that peace again
They might think it supports religion but it doesn’t. Sad and irresponsible.
Mine was nowhere near as bad as his, but in my life there will always preaccident me and post accident me. Like a y, I went in, could have had death, but had life instead but because I’m totally different the trajectory of my life is also.
