Israel has successfully deployed high-powered laser systems to intercept Hezbollah drones during recent clashes along the Lebanese border, marking the first operational use of this technology.

Developed by Rafael and the Defense Ministry’s R&D division, the „Iron Beam“ laser system complements existing missile defenses by offering a faster and more cost-effective interception method (A few dollars per interception instead of tens of thousands).
