Oh, and just in case Americans lost the subtext, as a Canadian, I’d like to take it upon myself to say „Fuck you. Fuck you very much.“

Just watched the speech. Why is the throne clearly showing the Queen Elizabeth emblem and not the new Charles emblem? I think it is CR? Instead I see ER

As someone on Ceeb pointed out, the first land acknowledgment from a monarch in a throne speech! I feel like that’s a really big deal.

    4. there’s some people I really respect who are irrationally mad at King Charles here, I don’t have a strong opinion on the monarchy and prior to Trump wouldnt have cared one way or another if it stayed or went. With Trump I am very grateful for it, and I think it’s no surprise 45% have a positive impression of Charles now, and I don’t see myself ever thinking we need to abolish it. I’d much rather have a King or Queen at this point to help steer off people like Trump and Putin but that’s just me.

King came over to tell us that He’s the owner of the country not the Orangeman , how about we just let the workers own Canada already then we can stop this posturing nonsense

Who honestly sees this speech as a deterrent to whatever threats we are facing? Was it worth all this commotion?

I personally don’t think so but I’m curious. It’s not the end of the world, I’m aware. I just don’t think it impacts anything significantly

Like it always is, this Throne speech was just a restatement of the government’s electoral platform. Nothing particularly new or interesting was said.

What will be more interesting is what the government will do to accomplish some of these lofty promises.
