Republicans are going to have an early Christmas if Democrats start attacking Trumps mental fitness after they ignored Biden for years

They’re not going to, because those were never good faith criticisms.

They’re perfectly fine with a useful if not slightly embarrassing vegetable so long as they can push whatever the fuck they want (Heritage Foundation)

We need to push that video out as much as possible. Being completely honest, his motions, posture, look, and the general cluelessness reminds me of my 89-y.o. father-in-law when confronted with a new environment. Close to mentally shutting down from the stress of dealing with instructions, etc.

Cheeto Hitler is going to destroy the Democrats & the Republicans. After this epic, historic shitshow either Democracy will die utterly in the USA, or new parties will rise up to replace the corrupt old elite on both sides of the aisle.

    6. And here I thought Democrats would be completely fucking useless.

      Silly, silly me.

    7. Elder abuse. And sometimes he looks like he doesn’t know what he’s even signing. Who’s controlling the auto pen? Very concerning.

    8. Lakerdog1970 on

I just hope he doesn’t decide to run for re-election like Biden did at this age. 🙂

I mean, Trump is obviously addled. The best resistance to him isn’t really to as questions about his mental acuity, it’s to ask all the younger Republicans about the 2028 primary. Like when JD Vance comes out to talk about something…..ask him: „VP Vance??? Are you planning to run for President in 2028? What will your major platform be? Does it differ from the President’s platform?“

      Ditto for all of them.

    9. If Trump were to suddenly die, Stephen Miller could walk into Party City, buy a Trump mask, and start impersonating him. The Republican Party would still fight tooth and nail, insisting that any claim the man behind the mask is not actually Trump is just another „Democrat lie.“

    10. Ok that will not happen. Dems need to beat this drum repeatedly, not expect Rs to do it for them.

    11. “Years of Biden attack.” Yeah that wasn’t the problem — the problem was years of defending Biden when everyone knew he wasn’t fit for office. What happened to Democrats that they can no longer be honest about anything?

    12. Why would they? Trump is their rubber stamp, he will sign whatever is put in front of him. Why not just use him and then make him the single fall guy when it all falls apart (and they can buy it up for pennies.)

    13. J-the-Kidder on

Aww that’s so adorable, the Dems want the Republicans to practice what they preach. It’s almost like they think the GOP isn’t a gang of shameless hypocrites that care.

The difference is that when voters saw Biden speak at one of the early debates, they realized just how unfit he was, which led to Harris running instead. Trump has been unfit from an intellectual, emotional, and ethical standpoint his entire life and his followers love him for it. Their loyalty won’t change if he’s now experiencing age-related decline because he is a god to them. He could declare healthcare access as a right and create a new, tax-funded health service for every single citizen and they would eat it up. The health insurance industry would be deeply unhappy, but Trump’s voter base does not care what he does because its a cult.

    15. Democrats weren’t happy about Biden’s mental state. It’s the establishment that covered it up. Lo and behold, the establishment will cover up Trump’s mental state as best they can.

Crazy how it’s always the establishment gaslighting us time and time again. “Something something George Orwell quote.”

    16. Reed_Ikulas_PDX on

Democrats should request the media question his mental fitness, while appearing in the media.

    17. Probable_Bison on

Uhhh Democrats have been calling on Republicans to question Trumps mental fitness since his first term, way before Republicans were doing that to Biden.

At least since 2017/2018 when Trump said he took a ten minute alzheimers screening worksheet and pretended it was an extensive IQ test that proves he’s a genius.

He then acted like that one test proved he doesn’t and would never have alzheimers.

And the guy administering it turned out to be a raging alcoholic.

Again, that was before Biden was even running in 2019/2020 and Republicans started calling him senile.

Republicans in congress know Trump is as crazy as a shithouse rat.

They just don’t care because power and cult.

    18. I love how this shit is framed. Just complete abdication of responsibility. It isn’t Democrats pushing this as an issue, it’s a clearly fucking apparent issue anyone can see. It’s an inherently important news story staring everyone in the fucking face.

Gonna have to start laying the groundwork with a liberal media news network and hope we get results in about 30-40 years

      >“It is time for Republicans to start calling him out and start questioning his mental acuity, and whether or not he is equipped to serve mentally. We know when it comes down to his criminality, he is not qualified to serve, but this is just absolutely deplorable.”

I love Congresswoman Crockett, I truly do, she’s probably the best thing that has happened to American politics in years, but realistically, what incentive do Republicans have to question the moron’s mental fitness?

We all know that Trump is probably weeks or months away from thrashing around on the Oval Office floor, foaming at the mouth, shitting his pants and screaming the n-word at the press, and the New York Times would still report that as „the President is having a great time at an impromptu White House love fest“. Fox News would just not report on it at all, or if they do, they’d do so by running a supercut of President Biden’s „gaffes“. Flaired-user Reddit would pointedly ask: „So, *now* a President’s mental acuity is suddenly a problem?“. Trump’s approval rating would probably go up by another couple of points.

Republicans know that. And they also know that their best play is not to address Trump’s severe, public and globally embarrassing mental decline at all. The media won’t touch the subject with a bargepole (in fact, this article right here calls his West Point meltdown merely „eccentric“), so why should they? They are getting *everything* they ever wanted and more out of this Presidency, so why attack the goose that lays golden eggs?

    21. NerdySongwriter on

They won’t. Acting concerned with competency is reserved for critising non-republicans.

    22. sniffstink1 on

I really like the headline for the article, but you know that will never happen.

    23. astrozombie2012 on

Republicans don’t care that Trump has mush for brains… they never will. All they care about is the end goal, hurting the right people. They’re hateful small people, the content and character of the man doesn’t matter to them at all.

Funny thing about fascists they don’t care about your complaints of mental fitness. They only care about their complaints.

    27. Rare-Forever2135 on

This is not a sudden tit for tat, by the way. Psych professionals have been calling Trump’s mental health and stability into question since he announced his run in 2015.

    28. BurtMaclin23 on

It’s batshit insane. T***p rambles incoherently off topic and talks about the most insane shit that pops in his head if he thinks it sounds good, he just repeats it until the room is out of air…. just like my grandpa. It drove my dad NUTS to listen to my grandpa in his crazy mental state the last few years and then my dad turns around and votes for someone even crazier than my grandpa was. I asked my dad, in an alternate reality would he have voted for his dad to be president and it was a hard flat, no son, your grandpa was crazy.

It just makes no sense to me. They way things have gone since our Orange Grand Master took office, it’s got me feeling like maybe I’m the crazy one.

    29. XI_Vanquish_IX on

What’s the point when we can question the mental fitness of his millions of supporters all the same?

    30. Modred_the_Mystic on

Yeah but what about decorum, and maintaining the morale high ground? Did you ever think about that?

    31. To be fair…

He said he didn’t know if it was his job to defend the constitution….

It’s literally in his oath he took…twice…

Both criticisms were just and accurate in both circumstances… we are truly living inside of the most unfunny Monty Python skit imaginable

    33. He doesn’t have dementia. He’s always been warped, and it’s just gotten worse as the decades went on. Some sort of longterm syphilitic brain rot. Oh and he’s a moron masquerading as a brilliant man. I believe Dubya is smarter.

    34. It was funny how all those people who were „genuinely worried about the age of both candidates“ vanished when Biden dropped out
