    1. Are they completely stupid and incompetent?

If you want a great country you need people to get kids and you need a well educated workforce. In China everyone is educated and the workforce can read, write and use a computer without problems. USA can’t compete with that, if 2/3 of the population can’t read and write very well

    2. the minimum number of credits to receive the full Pell grant would increase from 12 to 15.

Anyone taking less than part time credits (considered 6 right now. It doesn’t say if that threshold would also increase) would no longer receive the Pell grant at all.

    3. They only want their rich friends children and nepotism of influx of new golden Trump card resident aliens.

    4. Educated people don’t vote against their own self interest.

The „dumb“ Reagan caused, by stripping the education budget to the bone in the 80s, has come home to roost in MAGA.

    5. I’m old enough to remember when Republicans at least claimed that their tax scams would build the economy and create jobs (even when the businesses benefiting said they wouldn’t be hiring anyone).

Now it seems to just be a race to the bottom of how unabashedly evil they can get.

“[We are in danger of producing an educated proletariat.](https://newuniversity.org/2023/02/13/ronald-reagans-legacy-the-rise-of-student-loan-debt-in-america/)“ — Roger A. Freeman, educational advisor to Ronald Reagan

The *sole* value of conservatism is respect for and obedience to [one’s perception of] traditionally established hierarchy, and hierarchy dictates that those on top (in-groups) are rightfully idolized and receive privileges, credibility, and resources, while those on the bottom (out-groups) are demonized/dehumanized and/or bound by restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources.

To them, the second-greatest injustice imaginable is for those [they perceive to be] on the bottom [of social hierarchy] to have access to the rights, credibility, and resources reserved for those on top. The first greatest injustice is for those on top to be bound by the restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources reserved for those on the bottom.

„Know your place“ is their mantra.

What they’re doing right now is creating more Barriers to Entry. For Education and Healthcare.

IDK soecificalky about the bill but I do know colleges are abusing these kids with cost. There should be some efficiency standards for schools eligible to receive pell grants or student loans. So many are bloated and turn out useless degrees just to keep the students enrolled and the government money rolling in.
