spit balling an idea. every time trump threatens tariffs, central banks start dumping US treasuries. maybe 1% increments per day. (actual economists feel free to chime in with a better number). would take a lot of coordination but i feel he’d buckle from this kind of pressure like he did in april.

I think he has again learned that a number of EU countries hold a lot of US debt in treasuries, and it would be a disaster if they collectively stopped carrying the US debt interest payments.
