I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this specific group was being funded by foreign agitators specifically for the purpose of trying to cause problems for Canada.

The Alberta Prosperity Project is blowing up over here in Alberta, I’m actually amazed how popular it is and how often people are talking about it. They just filed their petition application with Elections Canada. I hate that people aren’t taking this movement seriously because it is growing quickly.
It’s guaranteed that we will be having the vote next year, what I’m not sure of is how much the support will grow until then. I think it all boils down to what the Liberals do in regards to energy projects for Alberta and how quickly they act. This thing will get out of control quickly if we see more of the same from the Liberals. I’m hoping to be surprised by Carney and the Liberals.
Reading the article makes it clear what a joke this movement really is.
The rally looked like a sea of elderly grandparents, duped by lies and misinformation, not handing over their credit card info or bank account PIN but wanting to throw away their children’s future instead.
One attendee wants independence but doesn’t want to join the United States, at a REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ALBERTA RALLY.
Another attendee claims he’s sick of being taxed to death, conveniently ignoring multiple income tax cuts since 2015, the end of the carbon tax, and the steady stream of tax-free seniors handouts under Trudeau. Not to mention an independent Alberta would have to pay for everything the federal government currently pays for, so the total tax burden would basically be the same if not higher.
Just completely delusional at every level.
